Toyota, in cooperation with Hino Motors, Inc., is testing its own breathalyzer ignition interlock device. The Toyota Motor Corporation is focusing its efforts at providing companies and other organizations better ways to manage their commercial fleets. However, parents may also be interested in this device.

The Toyota Ignition Interlock is equipped with a digital camera to ensure the user is also the driver.

The device contains both an alcohol tester which can detect small traces of alcohol and a digital camera that records the users face when they blow into the ignition interlock system. The device will then either advise the driver on their ability to drive or lock the ignition of the vehicle depending on the level of alcohol in the users blood stream.

The digital camera located within the breathalyzer allows the fleet administrators greater management control.

Fleet administrators will be required to provide breathalyzer checks as part of the daily routine of vehicle-operation management.
