GA has IID installers throughout the state.

DUI offenders in Georgia may have to have an ignition interlock device (IID), also known as an in car breathalyzer, installed in their vehicle before regaining driving privileges. If requried to have the IID breathalyzer installed the offender must follow specific procedures and use an approved ignition interlock service provider.

The device must be installed on every vehicle the offender owns or operates, and the IID will have to be used by anyone operating the vehicle before the vehicle will start. Employees may be able to operate an employer’s car within the scope of their business if the employer is notified of the IID requirement and proof of notification is kept in the vehicle.

In addition to the costs of breathalyzer IID installation the offender will have to pay for maintenance or calibration fees. If facing financial hardship the person may petition the court to allow an extended payment plan.


In order to complete the IID installation the person required to have the device must have an approved IID installed by a certified Ignition Interlock Service Provider.
