Ohio has approved ignition interlock devices.
The list below provides a list of Ohio certified Ignition Interlock Devices (IID), or car breathalyzer interlocks. A list of installation sites will be updated soon. This list is subject to change and any information contained in this blog should not be construed as legal advice. For specific legal questions a licensed attorney should be consulted.
Ohio requires certain OVI (DUI) offenders to have an IID installed in their vehicle before receiving a driver license reinstatement. This car breathalyzer interlock system must be a certified model and installed at an approved installation center. The responsibility for installation of the device as well as the costs of monitoring, maintenance, and calibration belongs to the individual required to have the device installed.
