New York has ignition interlock providers in cities across the state.
New York State will allow some people convicted of an alcohol related offense to regain limited driving privileges with the installation of a certified ignition interlock device (IID). The IID will prevent the driver of a vehicle from starting the car if a preset level of alcohol is detected on the driver’s breath.
In order to take advantage of this program the person must use a New York approved IID and have it installed by an approved ignition interlock installer. The companies below have been certified by the state and may be contacted to locate installation centers across the state. Contact information is provided for some.
